More new species have arrived at the Park, the first of a dozen or so expected this spring. Some will stay off-exhibit until later in the year, as they are being moved here for the convenience of the other zoos - but some, like the Kirk's Dik-Dik will be on-show soon.
Dik-Dik are a species of tiny African Antelope. Our new female arrived from Chester Zoo in early March, and her mate came from the Cotswold Wildlife Park at the very end of the month.
Our Dik-Dik will live in the newly renovated house and paddock next to the Pudu, and near to the new Tortoise House - which is now finished, save some awaited planting. Our African Spurred Tortoises are already in residence, and the Eqyptian Tortoises and Indian Star Tortoises should also be moving in soon.
Australian Gidgee Skinks can now be seen in the reptile house, and Black-cheeked Lovebirds will be moved on-show as soon as they have completed their months statutory post-arrival isolation. Both of these are new species for the Park, too...
