You may have heard of the most famous Monitor lizard - the giant Komodo Dragon. Many species are much smaller, and some are really tiny. The Gillen's Pygmy Monitor is one of the smallest and is found in Northern and Central Australia. These bold, fearless little predators are not often seen in zoos. A pair has just arrived at Hamerton Zoo Park, and will be housed off-exhibit in our Education Unit until the revamp of the reptile section is complete. Several other cold-blooded species are planned to arrive as the year progresses.
