After years of complications with permits following Brexit, we have eventually managed to move our elderly male Short-clawed Otter to Tiergarten Schonbrunn in Vienna. He flew out just this week from London Heathrow to join their widowed female, in retirement.
This move now allows to to complete some ground-works in the enclosure and add a new house with on-exhibit sleeping dens for a new family group of these, the World's smallest Otter species, due to arrive in the summer.
