Some wonderful news from the Park to match the lovely early autumn weather is the breeding of the Sumatran White-bearded Civet. Twin babies born a few weeks ago are growing well, and have been kept hidden so far by their mother. As they are quite closely related to Binturongs (which breed regularly at the Park) and show similar growth and development, we expect they should soon be peeping out of the nest box.
Whilst we are told that these baby Civets are the first of their kind ever born in this country, we do know that they and their parents are currently the only ones kept in a UK zoo.
